The Deployment Manager (DM) is deployed onto an AWS EC2 instance. This instance will be dedicated to cluster management and will not be included in the ODAS cluster node count.
A single DM can manage one or more ODAS clusters. It is responsible for evoking the AWS EC2 instances necessary for ODAS cluster deployment.
An ODAS cluster is a set of EC2 instances that form a Kubernetes network. Kubernetes is responsible for managing the ODAS services and scaling them as needed.
The ODAS services are run in Docker containers managed by Kuberenetes
Examples of the services include ODAS planner, ODAS worker, ODAS REST Server
A few basic installation validation steps are provided below.
Deployment Manager Validation
- To validate that the DM came up successfully, search for the string "DeploymentManager started in master mode" in /var/log/cerebro/deployment-manager.log
- To check DM dependency configuration (Kerberos, LDAP, AD, Oauth, AWS, etc), execute the following script on the DM EC2 instance:
To verify if the cluster successfully deployed:
- './ocadm clusters list' will show current cluster status and will identify if a cluster successfully running or if it is in a poor state
